JUNE 17, 2022 ~ 52 WEEKS THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

JUNE 17 READING…ROMANS 3

God is true, and every person is a liar. Those who purpose to judge God and His righteous have no ground to stand on. It is the height of arrogance for any human to think that they can judge God. He is sovereign…and He is The Sovereign! So some would say that since God’s righteousness is seen through our unrighteousness, we ought to sin all the more to benefit God’s righteousness. How foolish…God’s righteousness stands alone. It is not dependent upon either our righteousness or unrighteousness. Our unrighteousness is a fact. Paul’s says, “All have sinned”…”Their is none righteous”…”All have turned aside”…”Our mouths are filled with cursing, practice deceit, and are like tombs”…”We have no peace, because we have no fear of God”.

What are we to do? Understand that the righteousness of God is revealed to us in the law and by the prophets...but ultimately God’s righteousness is is given to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. We have all sinned, and fallen immeasurably short of the glory of God. But Jesus has redeemed us, freely by His grace. He is the propitiation (full payment) for our sin and guilt. Because Jesus took our place and suffered God’s justice for us…God is both just and the justifier of all who come to Him through Jesus. Therefore, we have no room to boast. We are not save because we are better than others, for in fact we are not…we are save by the grace (unmerited favor) of God through Jesus. So much good news!
