APRIL 1, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

APRIL 1 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 28:1-8

He is Risen! The greatest words ever spoken. All of our hope and our eternity rest upon these words and the truth that they speak. It is the Resurrection that validates what Jesus did on the cross. Without the Resurrection He would have just been another martyr who died for their cause. But Jesus did not merely die for a cause...He died for you and me...and in His Resurrection He overcame the effects of sin. He died for sin on the cross...He won the victory over sin in His Resurrection. Jesus' Resurrection is proof that He is who He says He is...that He can promise what He has promised...that nothing and I mean nothing, has the power over our Savior.

Without the Resurrection, we would have no hope...our faith would be empty and futile, and we would still be under the power of sin and headed for eternity in hell. In the Resurrection we find our hope in the promises of God through His Son, Jesus. The promise of forgiveness of sin...the promise of eternal life...no fear of death...no victory for the grave. Jesus said of Himself, "I am the Resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me shall never die.” We who have trusted in Jesus as Savior will never die spiritually because of the Resurrection. Death could not hold our Jesus...the grave could not keep Him...He is alive...HE IS RISEN! He is Risen indeed!
