SEPTEMBER 23 READING…JONAH 1 & PSALM 107 & PHILIPPIANS 2
The most dangerous place for a Christian to be is in disobedience to God. There is no safe place for a disobedient believer. It is impossible to hide from the Lord. And, what’s even worse a disobedient believer puts others in danger. Jonah put innocent men in danger in his disobedience to God. When we are in disobedience we put our family, our friends, our church, and literally the world in danger. When we refuse to go where God sends us, and share what God commands us to share, we put precious souls in danger. The safest palace for a Christian to be is in obedience to where the Lord has called them...this also the best for the world. The Psalmist says…”Let the redeemed of the Lord say so”. The world must hear our testimony…for how else can they know? We must tell them that He is a good, merciful, redeeming God. He has rescued us from sin…and He can do the same for anyone who believes in Him. Paul tells us in Philippians that we are to have the humble attitude that Jesus had as He walked on this earth. He didn’t have to submit Himself to anyone…He is God. But, He humbled Himself and willingly let them crucify Him. This should be our attitude, as God works in and through us to accomplish His good will. Timothy and Epaphroditus were like this…how about we add our name to this list?
