SEPTEMBER 20 READING…2 THESSALONIANS 3
If you were to ask others to pray for you, what would your prayer list look like, and what would you put at the top of the list? What a wonderful blessing to have those who pray for us. One of the greatest gifts I get as a Pastor is the prayers of God’s people…and right now those prayers are even more precious. There is not a thing that we cannot ask people to pray for, and certainly in this world we have many things that need prayer. The Apostle Paul put at the top of his list for the church at Thessalonica to pray that the Gospel would spread quickly, and that God would be glorified by many coming to faith. He then asked them to pray for protection as he shared, and for God to protect believers in their faith. Finally, Paul was concerned that the people would always be directed by the Lord. Paul warns the church about idleness and staying away from people who claim Christ but walk in sin. We are to stand in the word, and in love correct fellow believers who are disorderly. Finally, we should remain a people of prayer…lifting up our own requests, and the requests of others.
Please share your thoughts.
