SEPTEMBER 16 READING…HOSEA 7 & PSALM 145 & ROMANS 11
In whom do you place your trust? I know we have have friends and family we trust, but I’m talking about where do you find your security in this life? There many responses someone could give…military power, financial standing, government (both foreign and domestic). Not a one of these, or any other we could name can give anyone security. Here’s what we must understand…one is only able to give what one has. So, that which is unstable and insecure can never give stability and security. Hosea spoke to Israel about the folly of rejecting God, and expecting to go to other nations for security. The insanity of going to people, places, or things that are literally imploding looking for security. The Psalmist reminds us that it is only God who is able to give us all we need…because only God has all that we need. Actually, God is all that we need. We praise Him not only for what He provides…but because He is our provision. In Romans 11 Paul tells us that though Israel has rejected Messiah, that God is not through with them yet...one day their eyes will be open and they will know salvation. Only Jesus can bring salvation…sadly the Jews believe salvation is from their religious practice, much like many Gentiles. One day they will realize that Jesus is the Messiah, and they will receive what only He can give. I hope you are not looking to this world for security, or man made religion for your salvation, both only come from God through His Son, Jesus.
Please share your thoughts.
