OCTOBER 1 READING…JEREMIAH 11-13 & HEBREWS 1
Integrity is very important to the Lord. Every covenant (promise) has its strength in the integrity of the person(s) that make it. There is never a problem on God's part, for He has perfect integrity. The issue is always that lack of integrity on we human's part. You cannot have a two way covenant where there is a lack of integrity by either party. Judah had entered into a covenant with God, and through the years did everything they could to break that covenant...and yet they still expected God's blessings. Even in their disobedience it seemed they continued to prosper, and this caused Jeremiah to question God's justice. Jeremiah, like us, was not understanding the difference between the work of God's mercy with His judgment. Jeremiah reminds us that the final evil that will cause God's judgment upon Judah is pride. Did you hear that? What is being purshed with every kind of abominable act, gender dysphoria, and demonic activity...PRIDE. If this was true for Judah, it must be true in our day. Hebrews reminds us that we have been given everything we need in Jesus. In the Old Testament they had the prophet, the rpeist, and the king. For we who are believers, Jesus is our Prophet, our Great High Priest, and our King. Before the angels there was Jesus...before creation there was Jesus...before time there was Jesus...our great God!
