MARCH 28 READING…LUKE 20
The audacity of the religious leaders to confront Jesus, and question who He clearly displayed that He was. Today, we have those of the progressive persuasion who continue to confront God, and His Word, claiming that somehow, they know better than the Author what His book says and means. They feel they have the right and theological clarity to correct what the Scriptures say…as they accept what they have decided is acceptable to them and reject what they deem unacceptable. Let’s be clear, the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God…it is true on the things we find acceptable, and it is true on those things our sensitivities find unacceptable. Jesus uses a parable to expose the hatred of God the religious leaders have for God, God’s messengers, and even God’s Son. They were rejecting Jesus as Messiah…their rejection changed nothing Jesus is still Messiah. Jesus corrects the Pharisees on the paying of taxes…and the Sadducees on the Resurrection. Today we still have those who reject the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, but this coming Sunday they will celebrate Easter…I wonder what they are celebrating.
