JUNE 29 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING:  EXODUS 16:6-8

Back in the day, a Christian group called, "The Imperials" sang a song that said, "He didn't bring us this far just to leave us. He didn't teach us to swim to watch us drown..." The song expresses the reality that our Heavenly Father has a definite plan in our lives and that we can be sure that He will finish that work. There is another song that says, "He who began a good work in you, is faithful to complete it." God certainly knows what He is doing and part of our faith walk is believing and trusting Him even when we are unable to see it.

To murmur against God is to express a lack of trust in Him to be God in every situation. Too often we walk by and respond to what we see and understand only. The Scripture tells us to walk by faith and not by sight. Our eyes can deceive us and surely our understanding is so very limited that we can't always see and know what the Lord is doing. We need to trust Him in every situation...we need to be careful not to murmur and complain...we need to obey His voice even when we cannot see how it's going to work out. There were a whole generation of Israelites who missed the "Promise Land," because they murmured against God. By faith let's walk in Him, trusting Him and thanking Him for not only being in our lives...but that He is our life!
