JULY 9 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ROMANS 3:9-26

There is one thing that is universally true of us all...we are guilty of sin. It is inescapable that no matter who you are, you’re standing in life, the size of your bank account, your ethnic makeup...we are all guilty of sin. We are powerless to rid ourselves from this guilt...we are powerless to make ourselves right. The inclination of so many is to either justify or rationalize our sin. We like to play the game of moral equivalence, by looking at everyone else, instead of looking at ourselves. We like to blame others for our sin, by saying I would not have done…, except for what they did and it’s been that way since the beginning. The truth remains, we are sinners... we are guilty...we are responsible...we deserve to be punished.

Here's the great news! The God who created this universe is a God of great grace, mercy, love and forgiveness. But never forget He is also a perfectly just God. So He sent His Son, because of His love for us...Jesus died on the cross in our place, to fulfill the justice of God. God in His grace and mercy offers us forgiveness of our sin and the removal of guilt, if we, by faith, put our trust (believe) in His Son Jesus. When God forgives us in Jesus, He removes our sin and guilt, clothes us in His righteousness (as if we had never sinned), receives us into His family and gives us eternal life.

No one is better than anybody else...we are all sinners in need of a Savior. Today, if you would call out to Him, asking Him to forgive and to be your Lord and Savior...He promises to forgive; remove your guilt and give you everlasting life! Please do it!
