JULY 31, 2024 ~ A WALK THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

JULY 31 READING…2 CORINTHIANS 4

Paul states that they did not lose heart, so let us be encouraged to not lose heart in the face of opposition. Sadly, there are those who will never come to faith, and who will always stand in opposition to the Gospel. Because of their continued unbelief their hearts are too hard to receive the message of the Holy Spirit, so their understanding of the Gospel is veiled, and their ability to receive the Gospel is non-existent. Biblical truth teaches us that unless the Holy Spirit brings someone to Christ they cannot come. From our perspective we cannot know who the people are that have blasphemed the Holy Spirit to the point that they cannot be saved…so we freely share the Gospel with all people. Who will and who will not trust in Jesus is not our business, and we cannot know, that information is above our pay grade and belongs to God alone. It is not always easy, and sometimes the opposition is great…it can come verbally, and it can come physically. Paul does not let this discourage him or change his course…and neither should we. I love this verse…” We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying in about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.” Stay the course my brothers and sisters…keep sharing Jesus and walking in the truth. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
