JULY 26, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

JULY 26 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ACTS 1:4-8

One of the last things Jesus told His disciples was to wait on the Holy Spirit...then He told them the reason why they were to wait. "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses of me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world." We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit in order that we might be transformed into powerful witnesses of Christ to the world. Jesus said in the Gospel of John, that when the Holy Spirit came He would glorify Jesus...that word means to make Him known (John 16:14). We exist to be witnesses of Christ...someone shared with us and now we are to share with others. It should not be just what we do...it should be who we are.

It is a great privilege that the Lord has bestowed on us that He could give us His truth to share with others. We are to share and not convince people, since that is the work of the Holy Spirit. So we go out in the power of the Holy Spirit, He will give us the words we need to share. He will go before us to prepare the hearts of those He would have us share with. And He will touch the hearts of those who hear the truth we share.
