JULY 16 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ROMANS 8:31-37
God’s Word tells us that we are, “more than conquerors, through Him who loved us.” In Christ we have the promised victory. We do not have to fear what men will do to us or even the opposition we will face in this sin fallen world where Satan is ruling so many. We are told that we are conquerors and we are so because our Jesus has overcome the enemy once and for all. So while at times it still looks like everything is falling apart and there is no hope and that even the Lord is failing to make a difference, we can never forget that God is in control and the victory is already won. There are things that need to happen and will happen that we cannot understand, but we need to realize that everything fits into God’s plan and is impacted by the declaration of His victory over all things.
We must be careful not to be consumed with the fear of tomorrow and the doubt that there is no hope. In heaven this is all settled, this is all done and the day is coming when it will be so here on earth as it is in heaven. We need to know that there will be persecution and tribulation before all things are made as they should be. We may have to face very difficult times, but we are reminded that in Christ we ARE more than conquerors. It is because His great and continued love for us that we have this promise. Together we stand on these promises as conquerors in Christ whatever may come.
