JANUARY 23 READING…GENESIS 41 & PSALM 40 & MATTHEW 17
Today’s theme is for us to “trust in the Lord”? If we merely live from one circumstance to the next, we will have not stability or security in our lives. Joseph had been through so much, but he had learned to trust in the Lord, not in his circumstances. His circumstances were real, they were unfair, and they were incredibly difficult. Joseph trusted the Lord in all that he had been through, and now God had brought him into the palace of Pharaoh. Joseph had gone from a slave to second in command of Egypt because he trusted in the Lord. The Psalmist tell us that we can trust in the Lord, because He is faithful. We can delight in the Lord, because He is faithful. We live to proclaim the Lord’s faithfulness. We live by trusting in the Lord!
In Matthew we have the experience on the Mount of Transfiguration. In this we have the voice of God from heaven telling Peter, James , and John that Jesus is His Son…have faith in Him. God, from heaven, instructs us to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Then Jesus does two things that revealed that we can trust Him implicitly. He healed an epileptic boy, and then He made a coin come out of a fish’s mouth to pay the temple tax. Don’t let life’s circumstances drive you, and make you something you are not. Trust in the Lord…it is the only way to live in blessings.
