DECEMBER 25 READING…ISAIAH 45-48 & REVELATION 16
Anyone who doubts God’s ability to speak history before it happens, just needs to read Isaiah 45. Isaiah prophesies 170 years before it happens, that Cyrus would be used to aid the captives of Judah. God called him by name, even before he existed. Isaiah speaks of the meaningless, powerless, and non-existent false gods that the people of Judah were worshiping. Isaiah also speaks of the fall of Babylon, but first the Lord would use them to chastise and refine Judah. It has always been God’s plan to redeem and use Israel…and that day of using them again is coming very soon. Revelation 16 records for us the seven bow judgments of God’s wrath being poured out on the earth. The result will be, loathsome sores…the sea turns to blood…the fresh water turns to blood…the heat from the sun scorches people’s skin…everything turns dark…the Euphrates dries up, allowing the armies of the east to invade the Holy Land…and the earth is shaken so badly that mountains collapse, and Jerusalem is split into three parts.
