SEPTEMBER 8 READING…JOB 32-33 & PSALM 103 & Romans 3
Not all counsel from others is bad…as a matter of fact, we all need good counsel from others in our lives. It would be incredibly hard to make it through life without others pouring truth into our lives. God brought a faithful, sound man into Job’s life…a man who spoke the truth without gile. It’s not that he told Job anything that he didn’t already know…but he spoke counsel from a right heart with God, and with Job. The Psalmist leads us to praise God for His holy Name…for His Name speaks to us of who He is. He is a God of blessings. He is both righteous and merciful. Though we are finite mortal beings, He is eternal. God sits higher than all…even the angels in heaven. Paul tells in Romans that we have all sinned against God, and His holiness and righteousness demand payment for that sin…but His mercy provided the payment. What a wonderful and great God we serve.
