SEPTEMBER 4, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

SEPTEMBER 4 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: 1 PETER 2:9-10

Without dispute one of the greatest gifts God ever gave us was when He sent His Son into the world to save we sinners...we certainly could not save ourselves. But as we read the Scriptures, we see so many wonderful blessings we have in Christ Jesus, the forgiveness of sin, adoption as children of God, an eternity in heaven. There is one great gift we often overlook, not realizing the great significance of it. Christ has made all we believers priests before God.

What a great thing Jesus has done...He has made it so no man stands in between us and God. We are now privileged to come directly into God's presence because of what Jesus has done. We can pray directly to God and hear directly from Him. There no longer needs to be a priest to administer the sacrifice...for Jesus Himself became our once and for all, final sacrifice, who is also our Great High Priest. When Jesus died the curtain on the Temple between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies tore in two...removing the barrier between us and God once and for all. The Lord has made it so that the curtain that has kept us separated from Him, our sin, has been removed and now, as His priests, we all can come in to His presence. What a great gift God has given every believer!
