SEPTEMBER 24, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

SEPTEMBER 24 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: Psalm 51

The greatest endeavor...the greatest experience...the greatest privilege that any human can ever have is to know God. We were created by Him and for Him. He is the only One who can ever satisfy our soul and complete our lives. It is an incredible journey walking all your days with God. Sadly, far too many people, even Christians, believe that the world can somehow satisfy. They believe the world can give them what they want and make them happy. The truth is, the world will always leave us wanting...it cannot give what we need most. And though sin is fun for a season, it lies to us that it can make us happy and complete...it ultimately leaves us empty and broken. Only God can provide everything we need as human beings...only He can truly fulfill our deepest needs. He is our provision.

Much of the Christian Faith has become very sensual, we are moved first by how something makes us feel, rather than by whether or not it is of God. We have learned to desire carnality over a true spiritual encounter with God. Even with God, if we are not careful, we use Him to get what our flesh desires instead of seeking His presence. There is great excitement, fulfillment and life, when we seek and experience the living God. There truly is nothing else like it in this world. If we find God boring...if we find worship unfulfilling...if we find serving the Lord undesirable, then we have let the world and our carnal selves become the focus of our existence, rather than the one true and living God.
