SEPTEMBER 21 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: Hebrews 10:19-25
What we do, or don't do, has a huge impact on the next generation. How we do what we do also makes a difference. Jesus said that we are to, "let our light so shine among men, that they will see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven." We are here to make a difference and we are responsible to the next generation to leave the world better than we found it.
I love to hunt...I like being out in the woods...it is a special time for me to get alone with God. One thing I notice when I am hunting is that there are many people who don't respect the beauty of the forest. They leave their trash and their shell casings everywhere. I have made it a habit of picking up that trash when I see it. Now I didn't put it there...it was there when I got there...but I pick it up, because I want to leave the forest better than when I got there. Life is much like that...we are all a part of the society and in many ways it is messed up and we might be able to say that we are not personally responsible...but we can and we must do what we can to make it better. We must walk in the light of Christ and make a difference in this messed up world. Doing nothing is not an option simply because we are not at fault. Jesus set the prime example for us...though He never did anything wrong, He never sinned; He willingly paid the price for our sin on the cross. In Christ we can make an eternal difference in people's lives, in the next generation, in our world. Go be His light today!
