SEPTEMBER 15 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: Isaiah 50:10-11
Life is filled with things that we are not given the answers to. Things happen to people and naturally they want to know why...yet this side of heaven we don't know why. To be sure sometimes the Lord gives us insight into why we may be going through different difficulties, but it has been my experience that most of the time He does not. I like the statement made by Adrian Rogers, "When you are in the darkness, trust what God has shown you in the light."
Neither God's character nor His nature changes because of situations or circumstances. He is the same God in times of great blessings as He is in the times of great loss. He remains the same when we are happy about a great diagnosis from the doctor, as when we are saddened by a bad one. He cares for us at all times and in all circumstances. He has promised to be with us at all times. He is our provision both in times of plenty and times of little. When the world does not make sense, He remains our constant loving, caring, watching, protecting, supplying, comforting, strengthening Heavenly Father...who is there holding us in the safety of His mighty hand and promising to never let us go. Why is a huge question, one that which we don't always get the answers...but God holds the answers and they are secure with Him, even when we would not be able to have or comprehend them.
