SEPTEMBER 10, 2024 ~ A WALK THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

SEPTEMBER 10 READING…COLOSSIANS 4

How do you treat those who you have authority over? Are you just, are you fair? How about those who serve you when you go out to a store or a restaurant? Do you treat those who serve you in a manner that reflects that you are a follower of Jesus? Unfortunately, I have had experiences both in stores and restaurants where professing Christians treated those taking care of them with disdain, and in some cases as if they were sub-human. It should not be this way…we Christians ought to be the group that treats everyone with respect…we ought to be the best customers any store of restaurant ever has. Paul closes out this book by calling the believers to live our lives in the public in holiness. Our walk ought to reflect our faith…we are not to be hypocrites, but we are to have a genuine faith and live in that faith. We need the wisdom of God living in this godless world, realizing that we have been given a limited time and opportunity to share the Gospel. While we need to be gracious in our speech, that does not mean that we are to water down the truth. We need to be prepared and ready to give an answer to those who will ask about what we believe and why we believe it. In these days, claiming a faith that does not impact how we live our lives in the world is declaring we have no faith at all. Our faith is not found merely in what we say we believe, but in how we live what we claim to believe.

Please share your thoughts.
