OCTOBER 21 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: Ephesians 3:8-13

The Scriptures teach us that we are to "pray without ceasing." Some would say that is impossible. I would say it's not only possible, it's necessary! Prayer is God's gift to us of His attention, care and direction. We have such a great privilege to be able to commune with God in prayer. It always amazes me that the Lord of all the universe has both the time and the interest to want to hear from me and speak to me in prayer. But He does...and He does for you too!

Prayer brings us into the presence of God and enables us to receive directly from Him, all the love, instruction and care in a personal way. It is not as if God needs our prayer to know what is going on...but we need it, in order to take our needs, our concerns, even our worship to Him. I love talking to my oldest granddaughter as she discovers things...truth is I already know most of the things she is just discovering, but how I love to hear her express her discovery and share it with Papa. I believe God is the same way with us...He just loves to hear from us and spend time with us...after all He is our Abba! Prayer makes all the difference in our lives. It is our personal connection with our Heavenly Father...and He always has time to listen and He is always at work on our behalf.
