OCTOBER 19 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 13:1-5

Have you ever thought that you needed to help God out? You know, somehow God doesn't quite understand what is really going on, for if He did, He certainly would do this or that. It is unfortunate that for far too many Christians we want a God who is big enough to get us what we want, get out of trouble...but we also want Him not to be so big that we can't control Him. We expect God to do our bidding, when, where and how we decide. At times, we feel we need to bring clarity to God, then He will see things our way and certainly He will do things the way we see best. That is not God...that is a cosmic butler!

There is no way we could ever fully comprehend the mind or the ways of the Lord. He sees things we cannot see. His understanding dwarfs ours. His plan is perfect and complete, while we are learning and deciding as we go. God is eternal, He is perfect in knowledge and wisdom, He literally knows the end from the beginning. He is fully aware of all the nuances of any situation and He has already worked it out in His perfect way, for His own glory. The wonderful thing is that we get to be a part of all this...we get to reap the blessings, unless we fail to listen, trust and obey Him, then we miss what He is doing. We have a God who eternally loves us...His plan for our lives is perfect...He's got today, tomorrow and forever, and He has promised us eternity if we by faith trust Him. We need to let God be God and walk in Him and His way. He does not need our counsel or our input...He is able!
