NOVEMBER 7 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: PSALM 128

There are foundational truths that make us, who we are, both as a nation and as believers in Christ. It is when these truths are ignored, forgotten, or replaced that we cease to be the people we were created to be. Our nation was developed and created in strife and conflict. It was set up so that everyone was created equal and we're given certain freedoms by the Creator. We didn't get it completely right from the start for all people, many just because of the color of their skin...but eventually these founding truths were established for all people.

When these truths, and the documents that express them, are perverted and deluded by progressivism then there is nothing left, but eventually anarchy...which is happening today.

It is the same with biblical faith. The foundation of our faith is Jesus. The Bible has been given to us to express God's truth and will in our lives. The Scriptures come from God to us and by definition must be infallible and inerrant, because they come from a perfect God. The Scriptures are God's perfect word for us in every area and event of life. The Bible is also under assault by the progressives, who challenge its authority, its truth, its authorship. They seek to pervert it to fit their own agenda, ability to reason and personal lifestyles. The Psalmist says that the word of God is settled in heaven...it does not change! The Body of Christ would be so much stronger in our world if we would spend time in His Word, believe it and obey It!

In these ever changing times, when fundamental truths are ever under attack it would be good for us to return to them and obey them. It will change the world...for the better!
