NOVEMBER 4, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

NOVEMBER 4 READING…EZEKIEL 21-22 & PSALM 5 & 1 TIMOTHY 1

Would God possibly use an ungodly king and country to punish His people? The short answer is yes…and He has done so many times. Ezekiel tells us the sins of Judah, which sound like what happens everyday throughout out our country. If God would punish His chosen people for these things, do not be deceived…He will certainly judge and punish America. The sins of Judah, are the sins of America. The shedding of innocent blood, in America the stain of the great sin of abortion. The injustice of a legal system that was , and is, supposed to bring justice for all regardless of standing or riches. They hate the holy things of God. They are lewd, slanderers, adulterers, people who commit incest and detestable homosexual acts. Judah, like America, has defiled the land and brought sinful pollution everywhere. The Psalmist reminds us that God takes no pleasure in wickedness, nor can those who are evil dwell in His presence. He tells us that God hates those who work inequity…and shall destroy them. Paul reminds us in 1 Timothy 1, that there is no other truth, except God’s truth. Everything else is false…even though most humans will go after these falsehoods. Remember truth is not determined by a majority vote, or by what is socially acceptable. Our God of grace has given us His truth, so we do not have to wander around in error.
