NOVEMBER 3, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

NOVEMBER 3 READING…EZEKIEL 19-20 & PSALM 80

Pride will always bring a fall. Judah had become puffed up with itself, it’s sin, and it’s idolatry. It’s king thought himself to powerful to ever be brought down. He had forgotten that it is God who raises up kings, and it is God who brings them down. Sadly, we also live in a time when people are proud of their sin and ungodliness. They also boast of their reality, that they don’t need God. They reject Him, and they shake their fists in His face, blaspheming His holy Name. They have convinced themselves that they are too smart, too rich, too woke, too self-sufficient, too proud to ever fall. They don’t believe that pride will always bring a fall. One day they will know this truth, sadly, through experiencing it. The king of Judah fell from his position of pride to begging for his life and that of his family…sadly he came to this place too late, and he lost everything. In Psalms, there is a cry for God to restore Judah. This kind of cry out to God only happens at a place of brokenness. A place where all pride is set aside, and we come empty before God, and humbly ask Him for His salvation.

Please share your thoughts.
