NOVEMBER 21 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: EPHESIANS 1:3-6

We are an extremely blessed people of God! If we are not careful though, we can let fear cause us to miss those wonderful blessings. That is the all–consuming nature of fear; it robs us of the joy of realizing all the wonderful blessings that the Lord has poured out into our lives. We continually have a choice to either focus on fear or focus on the Lord. The writer of Hebrews tells us to, "...fix our eyes on Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.” That means He is the One who both originates and completes our faith, and He is there pouring out blessings on all the time between the two! Fear has no place when we know that Jesus is our Blessing who continually pours out blessings!

When you feel the urge to focus on fear, or the that fearful feeling starts coming against you, begin to think of what God has done and thank Him for His wonderful blessings. Can't think of any? Well, how about the blessing of His love for you. How about the blessing that His Son died for your sin and overcame sin, death and hell through His Resurrection for you. Think about how the Holy Spirit, in grace and mercy, called you to His wonderful salvation, then gave you the faith you needed to respond. Still having trouble thinking of God's blessings? How about a home in heaven for eternity, with no more pain, or sorrow, or sickness, or death. How about the blessings of your family. How about the ability to even read this today and receive the ministering work of the Holy Spirit. Go on, I know you can think of so many more blessings in your life. You see we are way too blessed to be stressed and consumed by fear! Go ahead, "Count your blessings name them one by one...and it will surprise you what the Lord has done." Enjoy your day, blessed ones!
