MAY 19 READING…1 SAMUEL 15-16 & TITUS 3
Today’s theme is a reminder that God requires us to be obedient to Him. He does not accept partial obedience, nor will He accept us replacing His way with our ways. There are always consequences when we decide to do it our own way, while ignoring God’s directions. I see this over and over again from We Christians, we ignore God’s way in our lives, replacing it without way, then we find ourselves in trouble…and want God to rescue us. Sadly, some do this over and over again, never learning to trust the Lord and His way. Saul tried to do it his way, ignoring God’s directions. When he failed, he blamed the people…abdicating his place as king. The consequences for his disobedience and blaming others, was the loss of his crown. David would take Saul’s place on the throne of Israel. In Titus, Paul tells us to maintain, and be zealous for good works. These are the works appointed by God, not the things we do to appease God. The Holy Spirit is in we believers. We need to hear His voice, and follow His directions. If we choose not to…we will suffer the consequences of our disobedience.
