MAY 18 READING…1 SAMUEL 13-14 & TITUS 2
Today’s theme is a reminder that we need to trust God, not only for who He is, but for what He instructs us to do. Saul continually had a problem with doing this. He refused to wait on the word of the Lord through Samuel…and he lacked patience to wait upon the Lord. Even when he did something the Lord’s way, he would tweak it, by adding something of his own. Saul, certainly had his victories, but not as many as he could have…and his failure to trust and obey God would cost him dearly. Paul in Titus reminds the young pastor to continue with teaching those things which comes from God. We all need to be careful to do this, and to also live them. We are not at liberty to add anything to God’s instruction, as the legalist do…nor are we at liberty to take anything away from God’s instruction, as the liberals do. Teach, believe, and live God’s Word…this demonstrates we trust Him for who He is, and for how instructs us to live.
