MARCH 25, 2024 ~ A WALK THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

MARCH 25 READING…LUKE 17

Ingratitude is an ugly thing. A sense of entitlement breeds ingratitude. When there is a feeling that we deserve something from God the stems from ingratitude. People seem to have little idea the biblical meaning of grace. Grace means that God does in our lives, not because He is required to do, but because of the nature of who He is. If God is obligated to give us anything, then grace is non-existent. In our reading today Jesus in His grace and mercy healed ten men who had leprosy…but only one came back to tell him thank you. Have you wondered what happened to the other nine? Some certainly could have been so excited for their healing that they simply forgot who did this for them. There may have been some that took for granted that they were healed, after all that is what “healers” do. Yet some could have thought that they deserved to be healed and as whole as everyone else, so it was about time they got what they deserved. The spirit of ingratitude causes us to miss what God is doing in our lives and all around us. It causes us to take for granted the incredible truth that the Creator cares for us, and is intimately involved in our lives. Are you a child of God? Have you trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord? If so, you have been healed of the greatest sickness that we all have as humans…sin. The Great Physician, Jesus Christ, has touched you and by His touch you have been healed. Have you told Him thank you? We are not entitled to our salvation…it is by the grace of God. Don’t be like the nine who never said “thank you” to Jesus…be like the one who came running back to Jesus and showed his eternal gratitude to the One who healed him.

Please share your thoughts.
