MARCH 22 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ROMANS 13:11-14

The church has been asleep for far too long. The church is in a spiritual stupor, which makes it ineffective to have any real impact upon the world for the Kingdom of God. Time is precious so spend time on what is important...our faith, our family, our friends. Where we place our allegiance is also important. Not joining groups that require too much of our allegiance that we should give to the Lord and His work. Too many in the church today are more involved in their groups...be they social, political, professional or religious. So, while they are active and awake for their group...they are asleep and inactive for the Lord. It's time for the body of Christ to WAKE UP and walk in the Spirit, in order to make an eternal difference in this world.

Jesus said we are to be, "salt and light,” in this world. It is here that our allegiances need to be made clear. At a time of great decision for the nation of Israel, Moses asked, "Who is on the Lord's side?" Elijah said, "How long will you waiver between two opinions? If Baal be god, serve him, but if God be God serve Him!" Joshua said, "Choose you this day who you will serve...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!" The only way we make a difference is to be completely awake in the Spirit, following Him completely, having our allegiance solely to Him. I see professing Christians all the time supporting political ideals and politicians who promote that which is contrary to God. They do so because their allegiance is to their political party. I see professing Christians all the time promoting ungodly entertainment and social activities and philosophies. They do so because their allegiance is to this world and it's ways. I see professing Christians all the time promoting ungodly, apostate, heretical teachings, movies and religious philosophies. They do so because while their allegiance may be to religion, it is not to God. It is time for the church to wake up from our spiritual stupor...make our allegiance known...and walk in the Lord all the days that He has given us.
