JUNE 7 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: PSALM 121

Rest in the Lord! One of the hardest things for us to do is to truly rest in the Lord. So often we think He needs our help. What does it mean to rest in the Lord, while at the same time pray, share and minister? To rest in the Lord is to truly trust Him in all things...it is to rely on His wisdom, His way and His work through you. It is understanding that life was never meant to be lived in our own power, strength, or wisdom...but it is to be lived knowing that only the Holy Spirit can truly live this life and He is in us, living Christ's life through us. Jesus said, "...come unto Me and I will give you rest." It is in the place of rest, this place of total reliance, that we are privileged to see the mighty hand of God work!

There are those who would say, "Oh you Christians are so weak...you use Jesus as your crutch.” To this I say, "You are so wrong, we don't need Jesus as our crutch to lean on...Jesus is our hospital bed, where we are totally laid out, totally dependent, totally resting upon.” Listen my Christian brothers and sisters, Jesus is our Sabbath...not rest for just one day of the week, but He is our rest every day, all day long! Come find your rest for your weary soul in the One who can give you genuine rest....Jesus!
