JUNE 6, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

JUNE 6 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 10:12-13

What empowers you to live the Christian life...what enables your church to carry on its God given ministry? I have often wondered if we didn't pray and we didn't have the response from the Holy Spirit in prayer would everything look the same in our lives and churches as it does now. How can we know where God is leading without prayer? How could we be able to do what God has called us to do without prayer? How can we be connected to the Holy Spirit without prayer? Prayer truly is our lifeline to God. We are not a people who were given a one-time assignment, then sent out on our own to do our best. As Christians, followers of Christ, we need to stay connected every day all day long...Paul said we are to, "Pray without ceasing.”

We are never independent of God; we are totally dependent on Him. That's how we get to be a part of His eternal work! That's how we experience His power, His presence and His person. We need Him in order to live and walk as His people. He is our strength to stand. He is our protection when we are tempted. We are not strong enough on our own, only He can give us what we need. Our ability to connect with Him in prayer is how this is brought about in our lives.
