JUNE 5 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: JEREMIAH 29:10-14

I'm sure most of us remember the little bedtime prayer..."Now I lay me down to sleep..." And the dinner prayer..."God is great God is good, now we thank Him for our food.” After a while even as children, we just said them quickly and got into bed or began to eat. Sadly, for many adults that is the depth of their prayer life. If we really thought of prayer as engaging God, how intense would our prayer life be...how specific would our prayers be...how often would we desire to be in prayer?

One of the greatest gifts given to us in our salvation is the gift of prayer. Think about it, the Creator of the universe has provided a way for us to have continual communion with Him. Put in another way God desires to spend intimate quality time with you and me. Have you ever stopped and thought how great that is? Think about a famous person that you would love to hang out with. How would you feel if that person called and said, "Hey, I want to spend as much time with you as I can.” How would that make you feel? I am sure you would be greatly excited and want to tell everyone! Well, the Creator, God Almighty, the Lord Himself wants to spend His time with you!

Please share your thoughts.
