JUNE 4 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ROMANS 12:5-19

There are times when we are to get into our "prayer closet" and just be alone with God. These are very special times we get to spend with the Lord. We are not to boast about them or how often we do them; they really are just between us and the Lord.

Then there is this wonderful gift in prayer that the Lord gives us as His church...I call it "corporate prayer.” Meaning the times when we can come together in prayer, because of the fellowship and unity we have in Jesus. This can be done with your prayer partner, your small group, or at a whole church prayer gathering time. These are so special, as the Body of Christ comes and calls out to the Lord and also sits and listens to what the Lord has to say to us. This is vital to the spiritual health of the church, for it is in these times, that corporately, we get to come into communion with the Lord and that is powerful.

I hope each of you have you own personal time in prayer with the Lord and that it is daily. I also hope that you are involved with a group of believers in corporate prayer. It is impossible for us to know our Lord intimately and what His will is without prayer. And prayer that is led by the Holy Spirit has the power to change all things.
