JUNE 25, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

JUNE 25 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: PHILIPPIANS 1:19-26

In the movie, "Braveheart"...there comes a point of decision for William Wallace where he is asked to compromise his values that he might live longer. When he will not, he is told by someone who cares for him deeply, that he will die. Wallace's response, "Every man dies, not every man really lives.” He was spot on with his words. There is one thing for sure, these bodies that we live in are not meant for eternity. Each of us, at our appointed time will die physically, we will enter eternity. That is why it is so important to have faith in the Lord Jesus...for He is the only way to eternal life. In other words, though we all will die physically (our souls separated from our bodies)...we don't have to die spiritually (our souls separated from God for eternity).

Eternity is coming for all people...that is a surety. Life is a gift from God, He gave us life, and it is His purpose that we live our lives unto Him. The only way to have a fulfilled life now, with eternal life after, is to live our lives by faith in Jesus Christ. Our sin separated us from God...but God still loves us and in that love He sent His Son to pay the price (the eternal consequences) of our sin. Jesus died, was buried and He rose from the dead...overcoming our sin, death and even hell, itself. The Scripture tells us that if we put our faith (our eternal soul) in Jesus for who He is and what He has done, our sins will be forgiven and we will receive eternal life. This is the decision we all must make that affects not only eternity, but our lives on this earth...for to have the fullness of the life we were created for, we must live by faith in the Lord Jesus. If you are not living that life...if you don't know the Lord as your personal Savior...if you don't know that your sin is forgiven and that you have eternal life...I would sure love to talk with you.
