JUNE 15, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

JUNE 15 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: PSALM 128

God has uniquely made us male and female. We are not the same, and we were never meant to be. It is God who established the family and said that, "A man is to leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall be one flesh." This is the way the family begins. Once married, they are now one and are to "be fruitful and multiply.” When the blessing of children comes, and couple become parents…the father has a call from God to his family.

The father is to be the spiritual leader of the household. He is to lead his family in the ways of God...by word and deed. He is to protect and provide for the family. He is to love his wife like Christ loved the church, and raise his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He is to be strong and yet caring...nurturing his family. It was God's intent that the family have both father and mother, not one more important than the other, but both working together so they can raise the next generation to know and love God. The father is to walk in holy fear of God, standing for that which is right and godly, realizing he can't do it on his own, but is totally dependent on the Lord!
