JUNE 10 READING…1 KINGS 6 & 1 CORINTHIANS 7
Solomon builds the Temple. He spares nothing in building this special place where God would meet His people. Solomon gave the best that he had to make sure the Lord’s Temple was unlike anything ever built before. Solomon used gold, silver, brass, and the most precious stones…he used the beautiful cedars, and other fine woods. He built this as unto the Lord. Paul, in 1 Corinthians, instructs the church to live their lives in their temple(bodies) as unto the Lord. When we marry, we are to keep our vows. When one is a widow or a widower…they are to dedicate themselves to the Lord. Today’s reading reminds us that we are not our own, nor do we really own anything. We and all we have belongs to the Lord. We will take nothing from this world when we leave except our soul. We need to give that to the Lord here, so we will dwell with Him then.
