JULY 28, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

JULY 28 READING…1 CHRONICLES 16 & PSALM 62 & LUKE 16

Are we willing to wait on the Lord? There are so many things we want answered immediately. The Lord is perfect in His timing in all things. We want answers now…but we may not be ready for those answers. We all need to wait on the timing of the Lord. He is our Heavenly Father, and He loves us. Some say God will not give us more than we can handle. That is not in the Bible…but what the Bible teaches is that we will never be given more than He can handle. That is why we need to trust Him…that’s why we need to wait on Him. In 1 Chronicles, David had to wait on God’s perfect timing to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, and re-establish times of regular worship. The Psalmist instructs us to wait patiently upon the Lord. In Luke, Jesus tries to tell the religious leaders that the time of the law and the prophets was over…God was using John the Baptizer to bring in a new age…the age when Jesus would manifest as the fulfillment of both the law and the prophets. And then we see that though Lazarus had a hard life as a beggar…God had a wonderful plan for him in eternity…he just needed to wait on the Lord to fulfill His promise. We all have things in our lives we would like resolved…we must wait upon the Lord, for He will fulfill His promises in us. He promised!

Please share your thoughts.
