JULY 18, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

JULY 18 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: JOHN 14:1-6

It sounds trite to say; all a person needs is Jesus. But when you really think about it, it is not trite at all, but an amazing truth. The Bible says every promise of God is "Amen" in Christ Jesus! The thought that in Him is the whole promise of God, means that there is nothing left undone. What else could be added to what we have in Christ? What else do we need that is not found in Him? He truly is the "Way, the Truth and the Life!"

Because of who He is we are told not to worry...for if He cares for the birds of the air and the flowers of the field surely He will care for us. Because of what He has done, we have a relationship with God...where we can come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy in our time of need. Because of who He is and what He has done we are now the very children of God...His Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are now the children of God, so much so that we cry "Abba!”

We have been given a great promise from God in Christ Jesus, an all encompassing promise that touches every part of our existence. We need to open our eyes and our hearts and receive what God has so graciously given us. For part of that promise is we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. Join me in thanking God for giving us all things in His Son Jesus!
