FEBRUARY 25 READING…LEVITICUS 14-15 & 2 CORINTHIANS 13
Today’s theme is a call to examine ourselves, and to do what is necessary for us to be clean before God and other people. Leviticus deals with both the cleansing from leprosy and bodily discharges. To have leprosy, bodily discharges, or to touch these things makes one unclean. God provided a way for those who were unclean to be declared clean. This again is a picture of the ultimate cleansing that comes to all who put their faith in Jesus. When God touches even the most foul and unclean sinner, He makes them clean and whole.
In the last chapter of 2 Corinthians Paul reminds us that though Jesus was crucified in weakness, He is no longer dead, but now lives as an expression of the power of God. God does not just make the unclean clean…He gives the dead life. We are called to walk in the new life we have been given in the cleanliness of the Holy Spirit. We now have Jesus Christ in us to bring life, and to enable us to walk-in the true faith of God.
