FEBRUARY 15 READING…MARK 6
Mark 6 is a full chapter. It begins with Jesus being rejected in His hometown of Nazareth. All they could see was the “son of a carpenter”…their eyes and their hearts were closed to the Son of God. Jesus sends His disciples out to serve the people…if Jesus came to serve, then those who follow Him will be servants also. John the baptizer is put to death by Herod, because he called the king and his adulterous queen to account for their sin. Jesus feeds 5000 with a couple of fish and a few loaves of bread…He multiplies the food and when everyone is full, there were twelve baskets left over. Jesus then shows His deity to His disciples when He walks on the water. Finally, Mark records for us Jesus healing many in the area of Gennesaret. My prayer for everyone reading this, and more importantly reading the Scripture tied to this each day, is that we would all see, believe, and live our lives according to the fact the He is the Son of God.
