FEBRUARY 15 READING…EXODUS 33-34 & 2 CORINTHIANS 3
Today’s theme is that God makes all things right. We could say that this theme is what God does with each of us when He brings us to salvation. We were wrong with God, and through His Son, Jesus, He made us right. In Exodus God continues to make things right between Himself and Israel. God does this by meeting with Moses…by having Moses redo the tablets with the Lord’s commandments…by revealing Himself to Moses…and by renewing the covenant with His people. After meeting with God, Moses returns to the people and re-establishes God’s requirements for His people. God initiates all this in order to make right what the people of Israel had made wrong.
Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 3 of when God makes things right He changes lives. He makes all things right with Himself through His Son Jesus Christ…and Christ we are right and made sufficient. The new covenant through Jesus Christ is the basis of ministry…for we have made right with God, and prepared for the wonderful ministry of God. It is only in being made right that we are prepared to be used fully in the ministry of the Lord. We are set free by the Lord when He makes us right, and now we walk in the Spirit…where there is liberty.
