DECEMBER 25, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

DECEMBER 25 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: COLOSSIANS 1:1-19

I am sure you all have seen the word history written like this..."HIS-story.” The Scripture say the Jesus has preeminence in all things, that includes history. When you read that wonderful book called the Bible...it is about Jesus! He is the theme that runs throughout the Scriptures. It was at Bethlehem that we celebrate His birth, but not His beginning. And it was at Calvary that we mourn His death, but not His ending. He is the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. He is the eternal God, who took on the flesh of His own creation in order that He might go to the cross and pay the ransom for our sins. He is before all things in both His existence and His position, for He created all things and all things were created for Him. He is the first born of the dead, for He overcame sin, death and hell, through His Resurrection. He is coming again and He will judge the living and the dead, for He is God Almighty.

Everything belongs to Him...you and I belong to Him...yes even those who reject Him and refuse to believe belong to Him. Everyone who has ever existed will one day bow their knee before Him and in full belief declare that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father. I have had people tell me that they will never believe...yes they will and they will know without a doubt the truth of who Jesus is and what Jesus has done. Sadly, for many this will come too late. It will be at judgment and they will stand condemned of rejecting Christ. Jesus came some 2000 years ago in that manger to reveal the Father to us. He came to be our Emmanuel, "God with us." He came to die in our place to redeem we sinners...and He rose from the grave winning the victory over our death. What He requires of us is to believe, to trust, to put our lives and our eternity in His hands. The message of Christmas is about Jesus...just like He is the central message of all history and all eternity. This Christmas, put your trust in Him. He loves you and He came from heaven to prove it!
