DECEMBER 22 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: DEUTERONOMY 32:1-6
Some things are hard for us to completely grasp and comprehend from our view here on earth. One of those is that God is perfect in all that He does. Everything He does is perfectly as He intends it to be...and that includes you and me. There is an old saying, "God don't make junk." This is so true, and He does not make mistakes. You say, when you look at yourself..."I have so many flaws." Can I ask you...by whose judgment are you making that statement? God made you perfectly as He intended you to be and His judgment of your perfection is really all that matters. Too often we spend far too much time wishing we were someone else, when in reality, each of us are to be exactly who God created us to be in Christ Jesus.
When we begin to talk about this the discussion always runs to, what about those born with defects? Well truth be told, we are all born with something that by the world's standard is less than ideal. We must understand that it is we who have put degrees of worth on people because of what they are born with, or without. To our God, they and we are His children and He loves us all. He has made us all in His image and the temporal "flaws" of the flesh are not what He judges our worth by...nor should we. The work of God is always perfect. I confess I don't always understand it, but I believe it. You are God's perfect work! Find the wonder and the fulfillment of your existence in His Son Jesus. Know that God loves you and He created you just as you are for His wonderful purpose. Celebrate the gift of life and trust God to fulfill His perfect work in you and in others. Don't ever feel you or someone else is worthless...for we are precious souls, created by God...and whatever He does, He does perfectly well!
