AUGUST 3 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: PSALM 37:39-40

We were saved and left on this earth after being born again to make a difference. It was Jesus who said, "you are the light of the world," light always drives out the darkness. When light happens, darkness has to flee...in Christ we are supposed to be that light. He said, "you are the salt of the earth," salt changes everything it lands on...and so should we. Jesus warned that you don't hide your light and you don't let your salt lose it savor...both would result in meaninglessness.

In Christ, we will make a difference! Prayer connects us with the Lord, brings us into His presence and lets us know His heart on all things. God is at work all around us and He has blessed us in calling us to join Him. We know how He would have us move forward in Him through prayer. In prayer, we get to touch both the eternal and the temporal. In prayer, we engage in the work of God. In prayer, we move forward and are actively involved...rather than retreating and being spiritually apathetic. In prayer, we get to know the heart of God and walk in His way, engaging the world in which we live with His love and message. In prayer, we let the enemy know he has no place in our lives!
