AUGUST 20 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: ROMANS 8:12-17
We Christians have only two options in how we will live our lives...in the flesh or in the Spirit. In the flesh we are capable of doing everything thing a lost person does. In the Spirit, we walk in the righteousness of God and are always led to do the right thing. In the flesh, we are carnal minded and incapable of receiving the things of God. In the Spirit, we are receptive to the things of God; we are able to learn of Him. In the flesh, we are unable to be used of God to minister in His wonderful work. In the Spirit, God is able to work through us, doing supernatural things that touch eternity. Our greatest sin as Christians is to decide to be in the flesh rather than in the Spirit...for it brings death to our walk in Christ. There is no gray area for the Christian...it's either in the flesh or in the Spirit!
The unbeliever, likewise, has only two options in this life. Believe and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior...or reject Christ and live life on your own. In Christ we have forgiveness of sin. Without Christ one cannot know forgiveness of their sin. With Christ we have salvation. Without Christ there is no salvation. With Christ we are made the children of God. Without Christ we remain the children of the devil. With Christ we have everlasting life. Without Christ we are dead and will experience eternal death. There is not a multitude of options out there for the lost person...it's either trust in Jesus and know eternal life or reject Jesus and receive eternal death. My prayer is that all who read this have or will chose Jesus.
Please share your thoughts.
