AUGUST 16, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

AUGUST 16 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18-25

There are those who want to portray Jesus as this benign figure in history. They want you to believe that in the scheme of things, Jesus doesn't really matter...you can take Him or leave Him. At the most to these people, Jesus is just one of many religious leaders, who all are important, but you are not to take any of them too seriously. These people don't mind saying that Jesus was good man, a great teacher and maybe even a miracle worker...but He wasn't a Messiah and He certainly was not the Son of God! He was just a great example to live by...nothing more, or nothing less.

This is not what the Scripture says about Jesus. Jesus, is the only Son of God...He is God Incarnate...He is the one and only Messiah! He is exclusively the only way to salvation for all mankind. It matters not your ethnic origin, the color of your skin, the size of your bank account, the stature of your position, how good you are or how bad you are...if you are going to know the forgiveness of your sin, have eternal life, become a child of God, Jesus is the ONLY way! That makes Him a stumbling stone to so many...for man does not want God's way, but man wants his own way. The major problem with religion is that it proposes a way to God other than Jesus and Jesus alone. There is no way other than Jesus and each person has to deal with that truth. You can take Him or leave Him, but there are great consequences to your choice.
