AUGUST 13 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING:  PSALM 102:22-28

It is really the immature (I am not using this term in a derogatory way) Christian that thinks they know all about God. It is in maturing in our walk with the Lord that we begin to realize that He cannot be fully understood by our finite minds. We realize that what we know of God comes by revelation of the Holy Spirit, through His Word, through creation itself and through that still small voice that bears witness with our spirit. The longer I know God through Christ...the more I learn of Him...the more the Holy Spirit reveals to me who God is, the more I realize how little I know of Him and the vastness of who He is. The Holy Spirit is always perfect in His revealing of God to us. He knows what we can receive and just how much we need at any certain point.

I am convinced that one of the greatest shocks for we Christians will be in that moment when we leave this temporal life and enter into His presence and see Him fully for the first time. I believe it will hit us at how little we made Him in our own lives. His glory will overwhelm us and we will be on sensory overload, like we have never experienced. You might say, how could we possibly stand such an encounter...once again His grace will sustain us and He Himself will provide all we need to be before Him in that day.

God is greater than our minds can conceive...no matter how great you think He is, He is greater. He is more wonderful than our hearts can imagine. He is more loving than we can know. He is more forgiving than we deserve. He is more holy than our minds can perceive...He is GOD! And here is the awesome thing...He wants us to know Him and He wants to know us. He desires to have a relationship with us...He loves us and sent His Son so we could know Him. The greatest thing for any human being is to know God...we spend our whole lives getting to know Him...and then on that great day we are extremely blessed to see Him in the fullness of who He is. Thank you JESUS!
