APRIL 27 READING…JOSHUA 19-20 & PROVERBS 27
Joshua finishes assigning the tribes their God-given set boundaries in the land where they would dwell. Then he sets up cities of refuge for those who unintentionally kill someone, these were places of safety from a family member attempting to avenge a killed relative. These were not to be places for those guilty of intentional murder, but for those who accidentally killed someone. In Proverbs, we are given some wisdom to live by…these statements are from the Lord, and intended to help us live the lives God has ordained for us. We cannot boast about the future, it does not belong to us. Keep from self-praise…others will do that if it is appropriate. When a friend speaks truth into our lives, even when it hurts, this is a good thing. Keep your friends close…a true friend is a great blessing, and their friendship is to be treasured and kept. Be aware of sin around you…do not be blind to its existence and power. When we walk with others of like mind, like iron sharpening iron, we sharpen one another. You cannot have a dialogue with a fool…they are incapable of reasonable thought. Take care of your own business, in order to have what you need for your household.
Please share your thoughts.
