APRIL 25, 2025 ~ FROM A PASTOR'S HEART

APRIL 25 DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 10:34-39

Jesus is the "Prince of Peace.” One day when He returns He will bring total peace to this world. He brings peace now in the hearts and lives of those who trust Him. He is the only one who can give us peace with God. All people are at enmity with God without Jesus. The peace Jesus gives now is not universal, but specific to those who know Him as Lord and Savior. The peace that Jesus gives makes us right with God, because it moves us from unrighteousness into righteousness. There is no peace where unrighteousness dwells. That is why everybody needs Jesus.

There is no peace when people do not know Jesus. Jesus is the, "line in the sand between peace and the sword" (Matthew 10:34). In knowing Him and walking in His righteousness we have peace...in rejecting Him we cannot have peace. There can be no peace in the hearts of humans without Jesus and there can be no peace on earth as long as the world rejects Him. Because of the world’s rejection of Christ, we Christians will continue to have conflict in this world. But be encouraged His peace for us followers is not determined by what the world does to us, but by His presence in our lives. There is an old song that puts it like this, "He gives me peace in the midst of the storm."
